Musa ‘Florida’ variegated banana trees are one of my favorite plants. They are hardy, remarkably easy to care for, and fast growers. Plus, they are lovely and not overly dramatic, making them a perfect choice for any indoor gardener!
I am growing mine indoors with 60% humidity and a temperature of 60F to 90F. They will likely be happier in higher humidity if you can provide it. They are impressively fast growers and root like crazy. I keep them moist (never bone dry) and get bright indirect light. It is also essential to provide good airflow and use chunky substrate. I use a mixture of coco coir, coco husk, and perlite. Another thing I noticed is that they are heavy feeders and fast growers, so it is vital to fertilize your banana tree regularly.
