Our Acclimation Process:
We’re happy to share our acclimation process in case someone else finds it helpful. We successfully acclimated hundreds of tissue culture plantlets and learned best from our mistakes—it was trial and error.

Please remember that what worked for us may not work for you. After all, our growing environment is different.

Acclimation process:

(1)Let your tissue culture adjust to your ambient environment for a day or two. Provide a bright indirect light.
(2)Prepare your substrate by watering or moistening it
(3)Clean your plantlets, make sure to remove the gel thoroughly
(4)Submerge the roots into root hormone (optional)
(5)Pot the plantlets into your pot
(6)Place inside your tray and humidity dome.

We place our plantlets inside humidity domes for at least four weeks. Once they are well-rooted and growing actively, they enjoy our plant room’s ambient environment. The plantlets may stay inside their humidity domes for only two weeks, depending on their root growth.

We open the humidity dome once a day to air the plants out.

Once they are out of their humidity domes, we start fertilizing them. They get bright indirect light and about 75% humidity.

We use tap water only because we get our water from Hetchy Hetchy. We recommend that you check the hardness of your water and go from there if you need to use distilled water.
